Momentum Health has a number of comprehensive medical schemes which cover the whole spectrum of medical expenses. Our six options are offered within three delivery models: primary care, new generation and traditional.

Momentum medical aid products:

Base Option

The Base Option provides affordable access to entry-level cover at preferred providers. Hospitalisation is available from one of two providers, Base Network or State hospitals. The limit is R800 000 per family per year at the Momentum Health Rate. Primary care day-to-day benefits are provided at either Carecross, Faranani or Prime Cure.

Access Option

The Access Option is designed for members who require unlimited private hospitalisation at 100% of the Momentum Health Rate at a group of network hospitals. Primary care day-to-day benefits are available from preferred providers, either Prime Cure or Medicross.

Custom Option

The Custom Option is designed for members who require unlimited private hospitalisation of up to 100% of the Momentum Health Rate and provides average day-to-day benefits. There is a co-payment of R800 per authorisation on the Major Medical Benefit, except in the case of motor vehicle accidents and maternity confinements. Members have the flexibility to choose their in- and/or out-of-hospital providers – this choice determines the contributions payable.

Incentive Option

The Incentive Option is designed for members who require unlimited private hospitalisation of up to 200% of the Momentum Health Rate and provides average day-to-day benefits. Members have the flexibility to choose their in- and/or out-of-hospital providers – this choice determines the contributions payable.

Extender Option

The Extender Option is designed for members who require unlimited private hospitalisation of up to 200% of the Momentum Health Rate and provides extensive chronic cover and day-to-day benefits. Members have the flexibility to choose their in- and/or out-of-hospital providers – this choice determines the contributions payable.

Summit Option

The Summit Option is designed for members who require unlimited private hospitalisation of up to 300% of the Momentum Health Rate and provides extensive chronic cover and day-to-day benefits.
